Life Hack - Pattern Interruption

What gives us the courage to change?  What makes change possible?

In my own experience, and working with countless clients and students over the last 25 years, the courage to change comes from being willing to show up as you are.  It is the act of being willing that opens the doorway to transformation.  Then you can feel emotions all the way through, review the past with compassion and begin to make new choices.

One of first steps in making change possible is when you consciously interrupt a habit or pattern and introduce a new practice.  You don’t have to know how you are going to do this or have it all figured out.  All you need to do is trust the process and know that by committing to the new practice, it is guaranteed that you will change.

I practice techniques for habit change every day and take on one or two major life changes every year.  The way I go about it is simple, easy and highly effective.  The only rule is you have to do the work!  It's not going to happen instantly, by magic, like it does on an energetic level.  It takes time, commitment, and constant daily practice.

Habit change may not sound exciting, but it sure is incredible when life starts flowing more easily and you are moving steadily toward your dreams.

One of my first spiritual hacks with habit change is to create a “pattern interruption.”  This is usually a dramatic new practice that shocks you out of living on autopilot.  The pattern interruptor doesn't have to be hard or take much time.  I recommend practices that take 10 minutes or less, require no equipment, are free and accessible to absolutely anyone. 

Everything I teach in EARTH SCHOOL, private healing sessions and ceremonies revolve around the foundation of five spiritual practices. 

*Healing Breathwork 

*Heart Opening Movement 

*Kundalini Kriya Yoga 

*Cold Water Therapy

*Earth Wisdom Teachings

These are all ways to interrupt a destructive or unproductive habit and start to make space for a new habit to take hold.  There are countless ways to shift energy and habitual thoughts/feelings/sensations but these are the practices that I have found to be the most effective over the past 25 years.
